Quick Catch Up

Quick Catch Up!

Well, it has certainly been an eventful and exhausting three weeks!  Last few days of Oct I was getting ready for a 3 day road trip with my Dad, toddler, two dogs, and the cat. He flew out to Tucson to drive us all back to Georgia for the month of November. Josh will be here in five days! Anyway, we stopped to visit my sister in Texas for the day and check out her new abode and spread the fall love with some oily awesomeness.
Pumpkin Pie scent! It was a little strong though,
nutmeg drips quick!

And we headed the rest of the way to Georgia the third day. Unfortunately, Eva either was teething or caught a killer stomach bug because she was sick the whole first week. No fever or anything, just random throwing up and she hardly ate at all. So stressful.

Typical sickly wardrobe

Seriously so sick :(

On a happy note she has been so much better this past week and eating like a horse! She took her first trip to Ohio to see her great-aunts and great grandparents, who haven't seen her in over a year! And, also, met a horse for the first time... she actually wasn't really all that interested bahaha.

One rare smile with Jay. He's such a gentle giant
in his old age

I'll be updating later today or tomorrow on some fun activities we tried the past two weeks! And oily awesomeness!

Toddler Pumpkin Painting

Pumpkin Painting
I've been slacking, we've had our pumpkins almost a full week and I have yet to display them! But today ended that procrastination! We don't celebrate Halloween but I just love pumpkins, fall and pretending it's getting cold here. So what better way than to get Eva working her artistic skills and giving Mommy a priceless piece of art?! So lucky me and the endless amount of pcsing friends that come and go we had some finger paints given to us. I simply got a paper plate and put a glob of each color paint I had for her; sat her down and handed her a paint brush. I used some packing paper I had left over from like 3 years ago that I used for Christmas wrapping paper and laid that down to minimize the mess. And I let her paint... for maybe 15 minutes. Her attention span is seriously lacking, which I blame on her Daddy.

I mean, how cute is this?!

She got a little bored with the brush so we went full Monty
and dipped some fingers in

I think she ate and painted herself more
than her pumpkin! Ha

Her finished pumpkin! I will say her paint dried a duller
color than what they started with and I'm a tad bummed

Bath time!
After the impressive amount of paint that managed to make its way to her hair, it was time to take a bath! (I cannot say again how much I love Young Living Oils. Please go check them out. The statement over "you get what you pay for" could not be more true in this aspect. Young Living please check out their Seed to Seal promise!) At the commissary this last time Mr. Bubble bubble gum scent was our only choice and that is just not a pleasant smell. Gentle Baby to the rescue! Smells great and has so many benefits for calming and rejuvenating skin. Seriously awesome oil. Eva sleeps so well on bath nights! I just did about 7 drops in the Mr. Bubble to mask the bubble smell and wallah!

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch!

Marana Pumpkin Patch
Our wee baby with the wee pumpkins we chose!

We spent the day at the pumpkin patch few days ago! Nothing like a hot Arizona day and trying to pretend it feels like fall. Though, we had an awesome day! We spent the day taking Eva on train rides, tractor rides, and a pumpkin train. She rode her first pony, bounced on some kind of pillow jumper thingy and traversed the impressive pumpkin patch for our wee pumpkins

My little orb diffuser. I actually have the bottom backwards haha

I tried to prepare us for the many allergy triggers we'd encounter hay, grass, weeds, animals, and whatever else you can think of. I diffused some RC and Lavender by Young Living on the car ride there, about 45 minutes to an hour. Last year before I had our oils the day there knocked me out the rest of the week fighting an allergy attack/turned sinus infection. But it was not this day! Boom.

Right before our tractor ride to pick out our
pumpkins!

Allergy trio- Lavender, lemon, and peppermint

Josh also brought our allergy roll-on which we used a few times on ourselves - bridge of our nose and behind our ears. We would put on the bottoms of Eva's feet everytime we had to take her shoes off for something and we'd swipe it a few times before putting them back on. Over all we are feeling great and no signs of allergies in this house! I really think the RC was the tipping point in our family of managing seasonal allergies here in Arizona. Woot!

When your baby cries, you cry

Eva had to have her blood drawn again today. She did when she turned one in March and it was so horrible for everyone. She had to go in 3 times because they can't take a full panel since she's so small and once they couldn't even get any blood. Screaming, squirming, and all that comes with a child being prodded commenced. Her results were all within the normal range except for her growth hormone. That then lead to being seen by a not-so-impressive "pediatric" endocrinologist in Phoenix who ordered more blood work, all of which she had previously but he added a few more. So here we are... round one of two for her blood work.

My small, pitiful baby about to be poked :(

It must've been my pregnancy hormones because I wept the whole time! I felt so bad for Josh since he was the "bad" guy and had to hold her down. All you could hear was her sobbing! Ugh it was terrible, just thinking about it makes me want to cry all over again. To make matters worse they couldn't get any blood from one arm and she had to be poked again on her other. When we got to the car I cried even more. By then she was fine and recovered but there I was sitting in the front seat just doing hiccup sobs and using a old toilet paper nose wipe I used for Eva a few days before (I couldn't find the napkins I usually keep stashed in the car haha). Josh told me to stop before he started crying lol! "She deserves a treat." And since she still isn't completely over her milk allergy, ice cream was out so Starbucks it was! It was a great recovery for both Eva and Mommy!

She didn't even get a fourth of this finished,
but it was a special occasion

I will say God works in great ways! While outside of Starbucks, Josh was doing me the favor of chasing around a somewhat wobbly Eva and these two older ladies were there and of course Eva charms almost everyone she meets! We struck up a conversation and one lady asked our names so she could pray for Eva. Talk about wanting to cry all over again. It was such a blessing! I can't imagine what families with sick children that have to go every few months or whatever to have their childs blood drawn. It breaks my heart and I know I'll be praying and thinking of them often.

It's been a day....no few weeks...heck couple years

What a day! Well not actually, just feels like one when you're 25 weeks pregnant and chasing a hellion of a toddler around amIright? Can I get an amen sister? Seriously, I'm currently chugging that beauty you see below (for some reason I don't like any other coffee right now *shrug*) staring at this lovely computer screen and catching the occasional whiffs of the Chinese almond cashew lunch I devoured that is staining yet another T-shirt. In my defense my toddler was climbing all over me! Buuuttt anyway. Anybody else struggling with just moving lately? Whether you're pregnant or just getting caught up in life?
Seriously chugging guys! So good!

I finally got around to trying a new beauty ehhh let's be honest here-ACNE regimen. Pregnancy hormones have yet again kicked in to an already struggling acne-prone skin. I mean come on! Wasn't this crap supposed to end when your teenage years did?! So, I usually do a bergamot, frankincense, lemon Young Living Essential Oils in my make-up. For more info on Young Living please click here http://seedtoseal.com/en , it's the ONLY brand of essential oils I choose to use in my hippie life and on my child, dogs and hubs. I'm sure you'll see them a lot on my blog. But being that my hormones are on the fritz more than normal I've decided to experiment! I love experimenting with different recipes! Anyway, this go round I went with the usual and amazing frank, tea tree, gentle baby and purification to see if it'll help combat these awful pimples. I, also, put a drop of lavender in my mascara to help lengthen and grow those babies out. *note - you should always use caution with any oils and in no way should they be used in your eyes! Please use discretion and as I stated above go with an accredited, above par oil instead of any that could have more synthetics than actual oils in them. *

Look at that beautiful tree in that background! I have a problem!
It's October and I couldn't wait!

*If you want any more info on Young Living please shoot me an email! I love sharing the oil love!*
